City Park has 5 nostalgic amusement park rides that are designed to keep all your kids smiling throughout the day.
The Carousel:
12/2018: Closed for refurbishment until further notice. This project will be a multi year project and is estimated to be completed in 2021. This carousel is a 3-Row Dentzel Menagerie Carousel built around 1906-1910 at the Dentzel Carousel Company on Germantown Avenue in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Learn about the history of this amazing icon of Burlington City Park. (Children under 42" must ride with an adult/ one adult per child under 42")
Miniature Train:
This diesel powered train will be fun for all guest! Don't forget to SCREAM in the tunnel! (Children under 42" must ride with an adult/ one adult per child under 42")
Planes:
You can fly in City Park! Hop on the ride and soar through the air! (Children must be between 36" - 54" and weigh under 80lbs to ride this ride)
Cars
: Beep Beep and buckle-up! Kids can choose from a fire truck, police car, tractor, truck and jeep while your kids scoot around our railed track. (Children must be between 36" - 54" and weigh under 80lbs to ride this ride)
Boat Ride:
"They are in real water" is what most first time kids exclaim as they meander around our circular boat ride. Ring the bell and wave at mom and dad for that perfect Instagram video! (Children must be between 30" - 54" and weigh under 80lbs to ride this ride)

Slides, swings and benches for the tired parents. Always an easy way to let the kids get out their energy before hopping on the rides! Adjacent to the playground is a beautiful fountain that was donated by our Sister City, Soledad de Graciano Sánchez. Take some time to sit by the water and relax.
PICNIC AT ONE OF OUR SHELTERS
(reservations required - make sure to look for City Park as location)A picnic in a park is always a good idea. There are many lush places to spread out a blanket in the shade and have a picnic. If you are planning ahead, reserve one of our nine shelters/gazebos. Many of the shelters are equipped with a grill so fire up the charcoal.
Take a walk and explore the local wildlife in "Little Alamance Creek"
The park offers trails that will take you over the bridges of Little Alamance Creek. This waterway offers a great place for kids and parents to discover some local wildlife. Learn more about the Little Alamance Creek Healthy Streams Cooperative.Other amenities in and around the park

Aquatics Center
The Maynard Aquatic Center is home to Burlington's largest pool. Swim lanes and slides. Something for everyone to do.
Concession Stand
The concession stand in located beside the ride ticket counter. Stop in for a snowcone, popcorn, cold water or nachos.
Tennis Center
The Tennis Center host tournaments from all over the state. Come see whats going on! Sign up to receive information about lessons and events.
5 Athletic Fields
City Park is home to 5 Ball Fields, stop and see if there is a tournament going on while you are at the park!
Walking Track & Fitness Equipment @ Ball Field 5
Enhance your workout and stop along the way on the walking track to use the fitness equipment sponsored by Alamance Regional Medical Center.

Downtown Burlington - Downtown is less than a mile away from City Park and offers great restaurants, May Memorial Library, small historical display in the downtown Amtrack Station and historic Paramount Theater.
Walk-able Restaurants
Across Main Street from the main parking of City Park is the Restaurant Mayberry at the Park it is a local favorite and great place to cool off from the heat during those steamy park days. They are known for their ice cream! On the corner of Overbrook Drive and Church Street is a restaurant aptly named The Park Restaurant. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served!
This is Burlington's largest event and occurs annually the 3rd weekend of September. Live music at multiple stages, arts & crafts fair, food, beer garden, Amusement Park Rides & fun for the whole family will fill Burlington’s City Park throughout the weekend.
Live Summer Concert Series in the Park
Bands take the stage at City Park the second Friday of every month May-September. These concerts are part of the county wide concert series in partnership with Alamance County Arts Council. Donations of art supplies are welcomed! Bring you chair, blanket and a picnic and be part of a Burlington tradition in our largest city park. Amusement Park rides will be open after June 10. Stay and play in City Park!
Join us for the annual July 3rd in the Park Independence Day celebration. There will be live music, great food, amusement park rides, games and of course fireworks at 9pm! Come out and experience this family fun event with Burlington Recreation & Parks.
Dark in the ParkCome out and ride the amusement rides, enter the costume contest, play carnival games presented by local non-profit groups, and enjoy an evening of Halloween fun at City Park. At 8pm turn your eyes to the sky for the annual aerial Halloween Fireworks show.
Easter Egg-StravagnazaBring your Easter basket and join us in City Park for goodies left by BRPD's Easter Bunny. The park rides will be open and activities throughout the park.
Christmas in the ParkThe park becomes a Christmas wonderland of twinkle light, garland and decorated Dentzel Carousel. Santa and Mrs. Claus always make an appearance. Free hot chocolate and cookies are served to the guest and there is a great opportunity to support Burlington Youth Council by purchasing baked goods.

Come and spend your child's special day at City Park. Kids will enjoy two hours filled with rides in the amusement park, walking the trails, and opening presents in the bright sunshine and fresh air. The maximum capacity for the gazebo is 25 people with seating for only 15 (three, 6' tables are provided).
Includes: Gazebo for two hours, balloon centerpiece, ride passes for two hours, and a choice of 1 cotton candy or 1 popcorn per child. For reservation information call (336)222-5030.
