Crimestoppers is a program that involves the public, the media and the police in the fight against crime. It offers anonymity and cash rewards to persons who furnish information leading the arrest of suspects. Each week, facts about unsolved felony crimes are aired on radio, television and cablevision, printed in various newspapers and circulated to |
various enforcement agencies throughout the area. Citizens are asked to call Crimestoppers with any information regarding the crime. All calls are kept in complete confidence. Citizens supplying information leading to an arrest are eligible for a reward of up to $2,500.00. The Crimestoppers Board determines the amount of the award.
The Burlington Police Department also has a Campus Crimestoppers Program designed to enable students a way to report crimes and remain anonymous.
The Burlington Police Department is seeking information on various crimes that have occurred in the City of Burlington. If anyone with information on any of the crimes listed has information that may assist with the investigation, they are asked to contact Crimestoppers or the Burlington Police Department. Persons with information may remain anonymous and all information is confidential. Crimestoppers may pay up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest of person(s) involved. Since it’s beginning, the Alamance County-Wide CRIME STOPPERS Program has paid in excess of $50,000.00 for information.

The CRIMESTOPPERS Program is seeking confidential information on the following crime:
Detectives with the Graham Police Department is seeking information in reference to a Armed Robbery, Assault, and Communicating Threats that occurred at Kangaroo Express located at 419 South Main St in Graham on April 4,2010 at approximately 10:50 pm.
An unknown B/M entered the store dressed in long dark denim shorts, a white t-shirt, dark colored tennis shoes with a grey and white shirt around his nose and mouth. The suspect had braided hair. He had a small semi automatic chrome plated handgun. He jumped over the counter searched the cash drawer then demanded that the safe be opened. The clerk was unable to open the safe. The suspect the grabbed two packs of cigarettes and the money in the cash drawer and left the scene running behind the store.
Detectives with the Burlington Police Department is seeking information on a Larceny that occurred a Rapid Transit located at 220 Elmira St between March 26,2010 at 8:pm and March 28,2010 at 4:00 pm.
An unknown suspect gained entry into the lot at Rapid Transit by climbing over the fence then cutting the chain that opens the automatic gate to steal a 1993 White Freightliner truck and 2006 White Wabash trailer. Inside the trailer was Sthil chain saws, bars, oil, shafts, chains and Sthils trimmers valued at $129,383.00. The truck and trailer were recovered on the side of the road in Statesville,NC
Detectives with the Burlington Police Department are seeking information on a Robbery with a Firearm that occurred on the 800 block of Day St.
The victim was walking on Day St when she noticed a figure hiding in the yard across from 811 Day St. The suspect ran to the street and pointed a gun at the victim, told her to get on the ground and give him her money. Once she gave him the money he ran toward Terrace Apartments. Suspect is described as a B/M mid 20s wearing a black hoodie and black baggy pants with white shoes. He has dark skin and had a do rag covering the lower part of his face. Suspect had a chrome colored semi-automatic handgun.
Detectives with the Burlington Police Department is seeking information in reference to a Common Law Robbery that occurred at the Fairway One Stop located at 704 Chapel Hill Road at approximately 6:40 pm.
Victim stated that she was entering the Fairway One Stop when an unknown B/M ran up behind her and stole a Mid Carolina Bank bag that she had under her left arm. The suspect grabbed the money bag and ran toward Tucker St. Suspect is described as being approximately 5’8” and weighting 160 lbs. Suspect was later reported as getting into the passenger side of a gray or silver late 1990’s model Cadillac on Fairfield Dr. the vehicle left going toward Elder Way.

Detectives with the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office are seeking information in ref to a Larceny that occurred at 2078 Northcrest Drive, Elon, NC
Between 02/13/10-02/16/10 Unknown person(s) stole a red and white 2006 Takeuchi Skid Steer Model TL-130 SN 21307822. The metal above front windshield is bent and a dent in rear panel behind the cage
Detectives with the Burlington Police Department are seeking information in ref to a Common Law Robbery that occurred at Burke’s Outlet located at 1819 S Church St., Burlington. An unknown suspect entered the store and asked the clerk for change for a dollar. When the clerk opened the drawer the suspect stormed the counter shoved the clerk with both hands and took and undisclosed amount of money. Suspect fled the scene in a SUV type vehicle, possibly a Chevrolet Tahoe or Suburban. Suspect is described as an Indian male between 20-30 years of age 6’0-6’2 with short black hair wearing blue jeans and a dark colored hoodie sweatshirt.
Detectives with the Burlington Police Department are seeking information in ref to a Larceny that occurred at the New Birth Baptist Church located at 424 S Flanner St.
Between 02/23/10 and 02/26/10 unknown person(s) stole copper out of the central air condition unit and the pipes that connect it to the church.
Detectives with the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office are seeking information in ref to a Breaking Entering and Larceny that occurred at 3540 Old Hillsborough Rd in Mebane
On March 1,2010 unknown person(s) stole a Dell laptop, a Westinghouse 32” flat screen TV, a Smith and Wesson 40 cal handgun .54 cal Muzzle Loader Mossy Oak Camo rifle and a jug containing approximately $200.00 in coins
Detectives with the Graham Police Department are seeking information in ref to a Robbery the occurred on the 500 block of East Harden St. on 02/27/10 at 0150hrs.
Unknown suspects in a black four door vehicle, similar in body style to a Ford Focus or Taurus with possible out of state tags Florida driven by a black female approached the victim as he was walking on East Harden Street. A black male passenger demanded the victim’s money.

Detectives with the Alamance Co Sheriff’s office is seeking information in ref to a Breaking and Entering that occurred at Shamrock Golf Course located at 1722 Shamrock Drive on 11/20/2009. Unknown persons entered a storage building and took a chainsaw, back pack leaf blower, an air compressor and assorted hand tools valued at over $6,000.
Detectives with the Burlington PD is seeking information in ref to a Breaking and Entering that occurred at 307 Union Ave Burlington, NC on 01/19/2010 at 1053hrs. A Black Male forced his way into the residence by breaking the front door frame. The victim heard a loud noise and went to the front of the residence to find the suspect in the front room. The suspect then ran out the front door without taking anything. Suspect is described as a Black Male, light skinned. 6’2” approx. 155lbs short hair little facial hair, 20-30 years of age.
Detectives with the Alamance Co Sheriff’s office is seeking information in ref to a 1st Degree Burglary that occurred at 765 Tillman St. Burlington, NC on 01/27/2010. Suspects held three parties at gunpoint and repeatedly demanded car keys. Victim was ordered onto the living room couch and a pillow was placed over his face. The suspect then went into the bedroom where the female victim and two small children were located. Male victim confronted suspect as he exited bedroom and a struggle ensued with victim striking suspect several times in the face. Suspect fired one shot into the floor and ran out the front door toward Elmira St.
Detectives with the Burlington Police Department are seeking information in ref to an Assault with a Deadly weapon the occurred near the intersection of S. Church St and Engleman Ave. on 02/1/2010 at 4:00pm. The victim driving a 1996 green Nissan noticed a newer model Lincoln sedan, black with four doors driving erratically on S Church St. Both vehicles stopped at the stoplight at S Church St and Engleman Ave. When the light turned green the black Lincoln pulled ahead of the victim’s vehicle and the passenger leaned out the window and fired three shots with handgun. The suspect vehicle then sped off and turned onto Gurney St. The driver of the suspect vehicle is described as a light skinned B/M, early 20’s The passenger is a light skinned B/M, early 20’s close cut hair, round face. The passenger in the rear seat a B/M, light skinned early 20’s
Detectives with the Graham Police Department are seeking information in ref to numerous Breaking and Entering that occurred Between 01/05/2010 and 01/10/2010 in the Edgewood Lane, Hanford Rd., Martin Ave., and Gant Rd. area of Graham. During this time frame numerous vehicles, outbuildings, and garages were broken into with item ranging from electronic equipment to cash being stolen. Suspects also damaged personal and real property with making entry into the vehicles and buildings.
