Burlington Carousel Festival
The Dentzel Menagerie Carousel, one of the most historic treasures in Burlington was built around 1910 by the Dentzel Family in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Each year the city comes together to celebrate the Carousel by hosting the annual Carousel Festival. Artists Alley, an area where fine artists and craft exhibitors display and exhibit their work features original Carousel wood carvers as well as paintings and much more. The Children’s area offers families the opportunity to take a ride on the Carousel or one of the other amusement activities that are permanently located in the park. Bring a chair and enjoy the sites and sounds of the local music and entertainment.
The Main Stage area will feature a National Country Recording Artist, Sunday, September 19th as well as many local and regional favorites throughout the weekend. And no one can forget the wonderful aroma of our food court, which is provided by local non-profit agencies from right here within the community.
With the avid community support of local businesses such as MidCarolina Bank, a leading presenter along with the Burlington Recreation & Parks Department, the Festival has grown to be one of the Southeast’s most renowned and respected events. Please join us September 18th & 19th, 2010 at the City Park for a visit to one of Burlington’s most exciting events, the Burlington Carousel Festival.
